Wellington, May 28

The following is the Rev. D. C Bates' weather forecast and summary

Heavy rain lias fallen on the West Coast of the 8011 th Island, and rain has been reported in most parts of the country. Northerly and westerly winds have prevailed, but moderated in force and a slight ristl in the barometer lias taken place in tho south to-day, but a fall has been reported elsewhere. Tho present indications are for cloudy and unsettled weather witli rain in most parts of the country. High northerly and westerly winds arc probable generally. The barometer will probably fall again soon in the south, for a westerly storm area is due to pass in the early part of next week.
