FORTY THOUSAND HOMELESS.
Pekin, May 17. Forty thousand persons are homeless as a result of the fire at Kirin, in Manchuria.
The damage by the fire is estimated at £4^00,000, 8387 houses, 4000 shops and 15 banks having been destroyed.
