OUTBREAK IN TIMARU DISTRICT

Titnaru, May 16,

At the Hospital Board to-day an unusual number of cases of infectious disoases were reported, scarlet fever 10, diptheria 6, and enteric 5. Two cases of enteric fever have proved fatal at Fairlie. The Board decided to take steps for a thorough inspection throughout the district in view of plagued, rats being found at Auckland, which may be brought by vessels, and generally to carry out the regulations when received.
