The following is the Ilev. 1). C. Bates' weather forecast and summary : Showery conditions have prevailed southward of East Cape in the North Island, but fair weather generally. iW( ] moderate to strong south-easterly winds have predominated, and the barometer has continued high, especially in the South Island. Present indications are for moderate south-east-erly winds veering to easterly northward of Hokitika and Kaikoura, and northerly and westerly breezes elsewhere. Fair weather is probable generally, with little movement of the barometer at present, but falling s'owly everywhere after about sixteen liours.
