LUnited Pbess Association.] Chrlstchurch, May 14. In answer to inquiries made, the Mayor ('Mr. T. E. Taylor) has received a telegram from the Hoii. J. A. Millar which states "that Wednesday, May 24th will not be observed as a public holiday.- Saturday, June * 3rd King George's birthday, will be observed as a public holiday, also Thursday, June 22nd, the Coronation day. The heir apparent's birthday, on Friday, June 23rd. will not be observed as a public holiday.
