HEAVY RAIN IN NELSON.
OUTDOOR FIXTURES SPOILED
(FrCffi "The Colonist," April 15.)
Rain set in yesterday morning, and continued practically without stopping throughout the day. Although the downpour would spoil the pleasure of holiday makers, it will be welcomed in the country districts. The Patcena, which arrived from Wellington yesterday morning, brought 250 excursionists, and the Arahura, which cam© via Pictoii, also brought a large mim~ her. The Arahura returned to Wellington with a large number of Nelsonians who intend spending a few days in the capital city. The railway wharf presented quite, a busy scene yesterday morning, the proceeding being enlivened by the presence of tho Wellington Salvation Army band, which marched to town playing inspiring music. Services- held at various churches were fairly well attended.
