FOOTBALL.

AMATEUR RUGBY,

A special meeting of the Nelson liugby Football Union was held at Stallard's room last evening, the president (Mr. it. W. Stiles) presiding, and fourteen delegates wore present. It was resolved that three se.cctors be elected for both senior and junior representatives, instead of one. Itesolved, that a special meeting :>e held on Tuesday next to consider the order paper of the N.Z.R.U.'s Conference.

Mr. Logan gave a report of the Now Zealand Referees' conference, and was thanked for same.

Resolved that the appointment of selectors be hold orer until the next general meeting. Resolved, that season tickets be issued to the public. Resolved, that it be a recommendation to tho Management Committee that a training room bo procured for the use of tho town teams.

A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr. A. Oldershaw, and Mr. Cannington, last year's selectors.

Subsequently a meeting of the Management Committee was held, all the members being present.

A permit committee, consisting of Messrs Johnston, Kitching and tho secretary was appointed to revise tho classification lists, the number of players considerably increasing this year.

Resolved, that the samo arrangements as last year be made re ground man and gato keepers.

A vote of thanks to the chair terminated the meeting.

The Nelson Rugby Union has ten fixtures set down for next Saturday, four games being played at Trafalgar Park. Referees have been appointed as follows:—

Senior: College v. Nelson (Park I), Mr. Nalder; Old Boys v. Riwaka (Ri waka), Mr. Cooke; Rival v. Kia Ora (Motueka) Mx. Goodman; Albion v. Waimea (Park 2), Mr. Bachelor.

Junior: Nelson v. Riwaka (Motueka) Mr. Goodman; Hope v; Waimea (Richmond) Mr. Johnson; Rover v. Rival (Park) Mr. Atkinson.

2nd Junior: Old Boys v. College (College) Mr. Whiting. Third Class: Hope v. College (College) Mr. Whiting; Rival v. Albion (Park), Mr. Oldershaw.
