TEMPTING PRICES IN LONDON.
The "Australasian" of the 15th inst contains a report on the shipment of apples from Australia by the Orontes. The Australian apples opened up in good condition, but those from Tasmania were variable, many of tho Riljstones being over-ripe and spotty. The market was excellent, the following prices Iwing reaised at Covent Garden :—

Tasmaman: Ribstones 9 S 6d to 14 s 6d; Alfmtons 8s 3d to 12s Gd; Cox's 16s to 235; Scarlets 10s to 13 S Cd • Mobbs 9s to 12s. '
The shipment of Tasmanian apples it is stated, had apparently been heat! cd. Buyers returned many, which were sold at a decline of several shillings. 1 he consignees arc claiming an allowance from the shipowners.
