The opening day of the Westland Racing Club's autumn meeting passed off successfully in fine weather. There was a fair attendance. Tlx- totalisator receipts amounted to £4380. The results wer© —
Open Handicap: Divorce 1, Hillspring 2, Pure Rose 3. Also started: Obligate, Wairarapa, and The. Orient.
Won by half a length. The- thiixl horse was close up. Tradesmen's Handicap: Ito 1, Surmount 2, Montagu© 3. Also started: Rurik, Moata, Expansion, Glenrock, and Supplement. Won easily. Introductory Trot: Adante 1, Mount , Camelback 2, Convent Bell 3. Scyeni teen others started. Won with littlo to spare.
Autumn Handicap: King Try 1, Waiwarewnro 2, Gold Bird 3. Also started: Aberration The Cornet, First View, and Wairarapa. Won easily by three lengths, Gold Braid a neck away from second horse.
Borough Handicap Trot: Maimot 1, Chips 2, Convent Bell 3. Eight others started. Won easily. High Weight Handicap: North Pole 1, Divorce 2, Negative 3. Also started : Waiwnreware, Hilispring and Katun. A fsplcndid race and won by half a length. Railway Handicap: Ito 1, Yeodoll 2, Expansion 3. Also started: Miss Sylvia, Surmount, Balmy Breeze Laiglon, Jenny Colleen, and Millionaire. Won by a length.
