Sydney, April 20. In connection with the Australian manufacturers' week in Sydney there was a representative gathering at the manufacturers' luncheon. The speeches, including those of Mr Trefle, Assistant Minister for Agriculture, and Mr Carmichael, Assistant Treasurer, advocated encouragement of locallymade goods, the cultivation of friendly relations between employers and employed, and the settlement of disputes by friendly conferences or arbitration.
