The Chief Medical Officer at Manil i has arrived. Ha gives, a vivid description of tho recent volcanic eruption at the Islands of Taal. The explosion was heard a distance of 250 miles, and it was followed by a tidal wave, which swept six miles of tho island. The inhabitants wore exterminated and the only living creature found was a monkey. All tho bodies were recovered, and about 1500 people were complete!; naked.

Tho seismic wave travelled to the town of Lemer-y, the country around subsiding to a deptii of six feet.
