There was fine weather, a large attendance, and the course was in good condition for the first day of the Napier Park Racing Club's annual meeting. The sum of £11,274 passed through the totalisator, compared with £6.356 for the first^dav, of last year. Results: — Oamarunui Hack Hurdles: Artie 1, Kikionian 2, Dorando 3. Won by a head, Dorando a fair third. Rabbittor and Couldron fell. Time 3min 20secS.

Esk Hack: Allurement 1, Oullinan 2, Kathara 3. Won bya length, same distance between second and third. Time imin 2 2-5 sees.

Napier Cup: Fort William 1, Rauparaha 2\ Ariom 3. Won by a iength. Time 2min 8 4-sset>s.

Trial Hack Stakes: Birkline 1, Elfboat 2, Bravest 3. Won easily. Time Imin 16 3-5 sees.

Welter Handicap: Cheddar 1, Erin 2, Toanga 3. Won easily. Tim© Imin 28 4-ssecs.

Sapling Stakes: Gold Bond 1, Our Queen 2. Bellah 3. Won by half a length. Time Imin 2secs.
