AN ANGLO-AMERICAN ALLIANCE.
SIR EDWARD GREY'S SPEECH
ENDORSED BY THE PRESS
(Received March 15, 9.20 p.m.) London, March 15,
All parties and sections of thoi Press cordially welcome Sir Edward Grey's response to Mr Taft's suggestion of an arbitration treaty covering all possible grounds of quarrel.
The Rev Dr Jowett, of Birmingham, •said he hoped that his going to America would provo what he thought the King meant when ho recently saw him, which might be a link between the two peoples, helping to bind them more nrmly together. Sir Edward Grey's work regarding a treaty was pregnant with tremendous issues. On behalf of England's Protestants he could express to their cousins across the sea their deep desire for such a treaty.
