[ Pr.Esa Association—Copyright.]
Sydney, March 15.
Lord Gholmsford presided at a farewell banquet to Mr McGowon, Premier, on the eve of liis departure for the Coronation. Mr JMcGowcn declared that the safety of the Empire rested on the self-governing power given to its people, it was safer and surer than any republican form of government could bo. Tho best help was that of a country helping itself. Public men in Australia to-day were facing this question in :ill earnestness and determination.
Tito rush to England for the Coronation has already sot in, and steamer bookings at various ports are very heavy.
