HUGE RENTS IN THE WEST END.

American offered £17,000 for three months' tenancy of a houso in Hall street, but th© owner asks £20,000. - ' A Liberal peer refused £10,000 for his residence for six weeks. Mr. Hays Hammond, the special representative of tho United States, is paying £2000 a week for the Baroness Burdctt-Coutts! old house.
