Melbourne, March 13.

Twenty points of rain fell this morning and the stewards ware doubtful but decided to allow the meeting to proceed. The course was in fair order and the crowd was fairly large. The results were:—

Hopeful Stakes: Gi'.laniatong (7.10) 1, Radiator (7.10) 2, Oaltronus (7.7), 3. Fifteen runners. Radiator tools charge at the distance but was immediately challenged by Gillamatong, a good finish resulting. Won by a short neck, two lengths between second and third; time linin 33secs.

All Aged Stakes: Comedy King 1, Broadsword 2, Alawa 3. The others were —Mala, Son of Marsh, Danaus, and Desert Rose. Comedy King was always handy, and ran to the front at the home, turn and 'led into the straight from Broadsword, Mala and Desert Rose, and won without being extended by six lengths. Alawa made a very fast finish a neck behind Broadsword. Time lniin. 43secs.

Autumn Handicap: Flavin (8.3) 1. Herova (6.8) 2. Matoure© (8.12) 3. Tho others were Adgio, Loyal Blue, Auropodina, Chaiwellin and Bolan. Herova led for half a mile. Flavian then eased up and took charge at tho. distance. Won by a length two lengths separating second and third. Tima 2min 54isecs.

Nursery Handicap: Mashtun 1, Psyttv 2, Stvano 3. Plate: Bobadea (Lambert) 1, Diabolo (Dav-ies) 2, Obi (Foley) 3. Also ran, Indiscreet, who made all the running to the straight. Won by four lengths, three lengths between second and third. Time 37J River Stakes E:truscan 1, Chcnillo 2, Nobel 3.
