NELSON AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE.

A meeting of tha General Committee of tho Nelson Agricultural and Pastoral Association -was held on Saturday evening last. Present: Messrs Godfrey Best, vice-president (chairman), W. D. Harkness, W. Colcman, C. H. Chiug, J. Hagcai, T. B. Chisnall, G. W. Best, W. Schwass, Jos. Wadsworth, James Hunt, Thomas Holland, Hayes Croucher, W. R. May, and Jos E. Bartlett.

An apology was received from the President, Mr N. Win. It was resolved on the motion of the Chairman that letters of condoler.co be forwarded to Mr W. T. Bond and the family of tho late. Mr George Talbot. It was resolved to fall in with the proposal that a conference of agricultural associations be held in Wellington about August this year on the same lines as that of August, 1909, and the President, Mr N. Win, was selected as delegate, it being decide! that one delegate only should be sent. In connection with the proposed coufdrenee the secretary of the Committee of Management gave a reminder that at the last conference it was agreed that in future conferences thei delegates be required in all cases to subpit definite verbatim motions regarding the subjects which their societies wish to bo considered, and that tho discussion be confined thereto. It was also pointed out that on the last occasion far too many subjects were.sent in for discussion, and it was decided that in future the societies should be requested to submit only matters of colonial importance. It was rftsolved that Messrs Coleman, Hariknoss, and May be a committee to arrange subjects for presentation to tho conference for consideration, and members were invite,-] to bring any suggestions connected therewith before the sub-committee prior to next meeting of tho General Committee.

The matter of fencing the racecourse was considered, and after discussion it was resolved that if the NeHson Jockey Club received a racing permit tho association would fence the course.

. The. questions of shelter sheds for horses and cattle and repairs to grand stand were brought up* and it was decided that the Ground and Finance Committee consult with Mr John Scott on the ground regarding thasc matters.
