Reid was cox. 24 Considerable interest was taken in the final for *he Sclanders Cup, which was rowed at the Port last evening, when the crews stroked by Bird and O. Rout met to fight out who was to hold tho Cup for the ensuing twelve months. Both crews were well trained, P"d opinions were even as to who should prove the winner. Bird won the toss and elected frlfe choice «f .course, leaving Rout the option of boats. Bird's crew, taking the outride course, was the first to leave the boat house, and favourably impressed the onlookers by the exact timing and- general neatness of the hand work of the whole crew. 'Rout's crew followed shortly, and though lacking the finish (if their opponents, seemed to get Dimity of pace, out of their bo.nt. with very little exertion. E.
