Allan James Dix, for breaking and ontoring and thort, roccived ono year's imprisonment, and three years' detention for reformative purpesc-s; I?obt. Bi'.l, on two charges of forgery and uttering, one year s imprisonment and three years' detention ; Charles Richard Smith,; theft at Wanganui, one year's imprisonment and throe years' detention ; Thos Dock ersey was detained for 12 months for reformative' treatment. New Plymouth, March 7. Frank Coopor charged with the theft of money at'lnglewood, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment and three years' in a reformatory. Cornelius Allen, charged with ff-lso pretences, by presenting valueless cheques, was sentenced to three years' reformative treatment. Martha Tainui, charged with thbft of clothing from an hotel, was found not guilty. The hearing of the charge against George Gedde of shooting and causing actual bodily harm to Thomas Kirk, was not concluded. The defence is that the accused had no intention to injure.
The grand jury also returned a tme bill against Madgwiek, charged with cattle stealing.
