SEVERE STORM AT MELBOURNE.
(Received 8, 0.15 a.m.) Melbourne, March "■■ There was a remarkably heavy storm this afternoon, with blinding rain. The streets were submerged, and tho railways in many places covered, tlie trains ploughing through floods, and vehicles were axle deep in many stivets, and the water was over the* footpaths. The races and all outdoor events were postponed. Considerable damage is reported.
