Wellington, Feb 16. Tho following is tho Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast:—

The weather has been very warm and hazy everywhere. Many places report it as the effect of Inish iires. Cloudy weather has increased in the south, and rain is reported at the Bluff this afternoon. The barometer has fallen everywhere. Moderate northrly winds have prevailed. Present indications are for a 'falling barometer in the North Island. The barometer is steady in the South, but a rise may be anticipated shortly. Increasing cloudiness in most parts of the country, and strong easterly wo'iids veering to northerly are probable in the north, and northerly changing to southerly elsewhere.
