PLUMBERS' CERTIFICATES.

'I lie vnltio of a certificate to plumbers on examination at tile local technical classes as compared with that of the City of London Guild, was the subject of a case before the Magistrate's Court, in which a master plumber was sued for a penalty by the li'snector of Awards, for paying the holder of a local certificate' less than th:> award rate. Mr V. G. Day, S.M., declined to decide the point, ami advised a reference to the Arbitration Court. Evidence was given that the workman sat for the first local examinations a.ml passed, but at the same tj'i;:* failed in the London examination.
