Dunedin, Feb 14. The^ conference of tho Congregational Unidn was resumed to-day; At the morning sitting the Rev J."- R. Glasson read a paper on the subpect of "Tlie Church and its reiation to Labour." In tho course of his remarks ho dealt with the present situation, the present attitude uf labour leaders to the Church, the definition of the Church and its message and functions, what the Church could not do and what it could and must and ought to do if it were to fulfil its true, mission in the world. -

In the afternoon the Finance Committee reported that applications and estimates for grants during 1910 aggregated £755 17s 6d, to which had to be added the estimated annual expenses £100. The deficit in 1910 was £19 Is 3 4d, and the vote on acocunt of the year book was £30, total £905 10s lOd, The income was estimated at £328 0s lOd, leaving £577 10s to be provided by the. churches. It had been decided to allocate this to the districts as follows : Auckland £320, Wellington £164 Canterbury £61 10s, Otago £132. It had been decided that a loan of £250 from the sites fund be granted to Sydeivham ; also that the Oamaru property he not sold at present. An application from Te Kuiti far a loan was referred to the executive with "ower to act. The pastors' provident fund board reported that tha credit balance on capital account was £3277 10s Bd, and on revenue account £108 16s 4d, while the interest received during the year was £159 10s. Seven ministers had responded to the invitation to become beneficiaries under the fund, and three were desirous of joining, but were debarred by one of the rule.;. The report was adopted, .and tlie rule referred to was amended.

In tlie evening a missionary meeting was held, the Revs R. Mitdicll and W. Tanner, of the North Island, spoke of the work being done there.
