A Timaru policeman surprised about twenty boys n.nd girls who were stealing fruit. He secured the nam-s of ten youthful thieve*. Th« boys ran away, but some- girls wlio were captured by the constable, amid tears and denials, furnished him with a list that includes representatives of almost every family resident in the neighbourhood.
