MOTUEKA VALLEY SWIMMING CLUB.
ANNUAL SPORTS
(From "The Colonist," Jar. 20.) The animal sports of the Motueka Valley Swimming Club were held yesterday at Tapawera in ideal weather, and there was a large attendance. Owing to the strong current running no times were taken. Afternoon tea was provided by lady friends of the club, and was greatly enjoyed. Several visitors from Nelson and Applcby competed. The events were got off well to time, .and credit is due to thci secretary, Mr E. L. Jones, for his management of the meeting, and to the other officials who assisted. The results were as follows:—Maiden 30 yards Club Race: W. Hudson 1. H. Jones 2; School Handicap, 30 yards: H. Steer 1 J. Cusack 2; Club Handicap, 50 yards : L. Ellis 1, G. Granville 2 : Neatest Header': J. Emerson 1, G. Hudson 2; District Championship, 100 yards: A. Hudson 1; Inter-Club Race, 50 yards: G.. Granville 1, J. Coote 2; Club, 100 yards, breast stroke: O. Batchelor 1, L. Ellis 2; 30 yards Club Race: G. Tomlinson 1, J. Cusack 2; Inter-Club Racet, 100 yards: J. Emerson 1, G. Tomlinson 2; Swimming on Back: A. Hudson 1, R. Jones 2; Life Saving: J, Emerson 1, R. Park 2.
