In the Patchenko trial Delacy's typewriter was produced in courtj and the -President dictated a letter. l)e----lacy took several minutes in typing two lines, and then broke down. Experts disagreed in identifying the typiMvriter with Delacy's letter, but when the Piesident dictated the letter, which Delacy wrote by hand, to test his French spelling, Deiacy rop. ated one of the principal errors contained in the original letter. Numerous witnesses gave evidence as to his complete moral and financial untrustworthiriess. It was alleged that he arranged a ennferenen at an hotel at which several bogus Russian misiistois and high financiers were prL'sent, nv.A in consequence of rcpru-s-nutation:-; made at the meeting a Polish millionaire advanced Delacy €7000 steiling.
