THE FUNERAL.

There was a large and representative gathering at the Richmond cemetery on Sunday, at the funeral of Mr George Jaibot. The chief mourners ) V7' c P™1? 1? o,* aiKl Mr Norman Tal,bot ,of Clinstchurcli, sons of deceased and Messrs G. A. Harkness and J H Harkness, sons-in-law. The pall b«ir ers were drawn" from among membors ol tlie local bodies upon which Mr Talbot had served, being as follows :— ij'n A T - T- Maginnity (Education Board); James Hunt (Richmond Borough Cmincil), T. Bell (Hospital and Charitable A.d Board), W. Colcman (Harbour Board), W. R. May (Nelson Agiv.cultnral and Pastoral Association) V\. D. Harkuess (Richmond School Committer). Among those, present were the Mayor of Nelson (Mr T Pettit) and tho Town Clerk (Mr G. A Jidmonds), who attended as a representative .of the Baptist Church, of which the late Mr Talbot was a member; Mr J. Graham M.P. (Chairman of the Harbour Board) ; Mr P. Best (Cliairman of the Waimoa County Council), and Mr J. Piper, a former colleague o.n .many public bodies*. The hmeral service was conducted by tho Rev Stanley Jen kin and the Rev A. J. Carr. A large number of wreaths and other expressions of sympathy were n.?v"ived by the bereaved family.

At the meeting of the Harbour B:mid yesterday a resolution was passrd that a letter of condolence be sent to the family of the. late Mr Talbot, of Richmond. Mr Talbot was one of the original members of the Harbour Board.
