LANCASTER PARK.

PROPOSED REDUCTION OF

SPORTS AREA.

(Special to "The Colonist.")

Christohurch, Jan 28. It is understood that the Lancaster Park authorities are contemplating reducing tho sports area on the Park, and selling the outlying portions of tho ground. The cycle track, should tins eventuate, will be a 440 yards one. The proposal is looked upon by cyclists with great favour, who consider the present track, which is nearly half a mile round, as altogether too big from a spectator's point of view.
