TAPAWERA.
The annual Sunday school treat took place on Saturday last. The climaticconditions proved favourable to the occasion, and a pleasant function was experienced. Tho scholars competed for prizes in a field kindly lent for the occasion by Mr G. Macmahon, and the various events proved interesting, and at times amusing. A consolation race was held at the finish, open to all those- who had not been successful in the other events. Dr. Hudson kindly presented the prizes to the successful competitors. After the races, etc., an adjourniment. was made to the local hall, where an excellent repast was served to- scholars and friends. The tables were presided -over by Mesdames Hudson, Rutherfurd, and Mncmahon-, and tho Misses Bradshaw, Betts, and Gladys Wadsworth. After, tea Mrs Hudson presented prize's to the scholars for regular attendance during tlie year. Miss Rosie ,Biggs, on behalf of the scholars, presented Mr 3 Hudson with a suitable gift, as a token of esteem and regard for their teacher. The remainder of the evening was spent in games, etc. ; .
