Mr Hughes has received from the ; Jmadian Government a cable regretting that th© Commonwealth is unable to <accept the route for th© Vancouver mail sez'vico suggested by Canada, . . namely, Vancouver to Sydney with.. Auckland as a port of call. Tier cable adds that Canada favours the inclusion of a New Zealand port, but is willing that a call .should be made at another Australian port." _ In view of the impasse thus reached it has been decided to await the arrival of Sir James Mills in Australia.
