LIVE STOCK SALES.
Messrs Bisley Bros., and Co., reporton the Nelson live stock market as' follows :— On Saturday last wo sold in tho as signed estate of A. Wilkie and Co ft. number of horses for wliich competition was keen, each horse- selling at fair to good value. The best bidding was for the well known up-standing dark gelding, which "reach £34, and went to the bid of Mr F. Haase. Bidding was gtfpd right through tile sale. Traps, harness and machinery all reaching top values. On. Tuesday last we held at our yards at Motueka a sale of fat cattle, 'mixed stores and dairy cows some SO head being penned. Beef of mixed quality ,- -being bullocks, cows and heifers was cleared at £7. Old cews and late calvers were dull of sale, but other classes sold well, prices being £4 10s, £6 10s to £7. Some, few special young cows showing some Jersey made £7, £8, and £8 10s.. One pec of .high class two year old shorthorn heifers made- £4 10s. Two year old steers made to £3 10s. On Wednesday last we held out usual, weekly .sale- at Richmond yards. The l entries at this fixture were smt' -but .the-jfejK .sales made.showed an «p---wa^d tendency ," especially -for. store hoggets in wool, which sold at 9s lOd to 12s 7d.
