Those citizens interested iii the formation of a Kennel Club in Ne-Json are revested to meet this evening at eight o'clock In fc\)D Cfavv&tel <oi Commerce room in- Hardy street. In spite of a notice prohibiting the removal of gravel from tho mudflat near the mouth of the sewer, three men ware observed on Saturday morning filling their. carts from this vicin-* itv. Tho matter soon reached the ears of tho Town Clerk (Mr G. A. Edmonds), who at once took steps to stop the carters. The practice of removing gravel, for street purposes, front an area over which sewerage has passed is anextremely dungeroiis one, and may cause an outbreak of disease during the summer months.-... Beiference to the death of Mr T. J. Baigent will be made at the monthly meeting of the Nolson Education Board to-day, Messrs L. D. Easton, of Motueka, and W. J. Reilly and H. Page, of Takaka, have been mentioned as candidates for the yacancy on tlio* Board caused by Mr Baigent' a death. ■
