Old Boys continued to press and the backs were throwing the ball about in fine style. From the throw in from touch the ball passed through the hands of Usher, Batchelor, Rahuriii and Bisley, the last-named again scoring. Tho kick, atlgoal was unsuccessful. Just before the call of time Bisley again ran through the backs and scored his third try, which McKay converted. Old Boys 14, College 8. With tho wind in thoir favour it was expected tliat the Collegians would give their oDpoiients a great shaking up, but the Old Boys played up splendidly — in fact- could do nothing wrong. Soon after starting Bisley again got to within an ace of scoring, but was finely grassed by King. Still pressing the College Rahuriri made a grent mil to the line, and ' liassinjr. to Bisley, who was" in closo attendance, he added another try. McKay failed at goal. The College then took a hand in attacking, and from a looso rush McNab scored near the posts. Richmond failed. The College continued to press, and from a free kick Richmond placed a nice goal, the game ending shortly after, Old Boys 20, College 14. The game^ was fast, from .starfr. tiy finish," '"nnir'fnV Olcl : Boys gave their best display of the season. The backs .passed splendidly, and all played well. Bisley was in groat form, his dodcv runs being quite a feature. Ralmrii-i also played a dashing game. Cbok was safe at full back, and Usher, Batchelor, Mayo and Webber all did well. McKay held a roving commission, and was always in tho van in the forward rushes. Tho College hookers were successful in getting the ball, but the forwards were not lieav yenough to hold the scrums. Tho half was slow in getting the ball out to the backs, and the Old Boys' forwards swooped down, spoiling much of the back play. King at five-eighths collared splendidly, and McNab was the pick of the thrco quarter line. Richmond, Quilliam and Uanron wero the- best of the forwards. The College team by their next game should keep sonic of the senior teams busy. Mr Logan rofereed. On the eastern ground Nelson a.ud j Waimeas struggled, hard for supremacy. SECOND JUNIOR, In tho second junior match at the Park Rivals defeated Old Boys by 6 points to 3. O'Donnell and Bunker scored tries for the winners, and Loaper kicked a penalty goal for Old Boys. Mr Goodman refcreed. | Tlic Collego second junior team was ; unable to proceed to Riwaka on Satui- ; dav to fulfil its engagement with tho local club. It appears that owing to the distance from Nelson to Riwaka the team cannot be driven to Riwaka j land' back in one day, and that the . | Principal will not allow a College! ■ team to be away from the institutionat night without a master. Ihe College is at present short staffed, and one oi the masters could not be spared to accompany the second junior team, henco tho reason for the team not j proceeding to Riwaka.
