KING GEORGE'S SYMPATHY

THE COLLISION UNAVOIDABLE. KNOCKING HEARD BY A DIVER. London, May 27. King Georgo has sent President Fallieres his sympathy in the disaster to the Pluviose. The commander of the steamer Pas de Calais states that he saw the periscope of the submarine fifteen yards ahead, and reversed engines and altered his vessel's course, but without avail. The movements of the Pluviose showed that her crew were endeavouring to get the vessel on a level keel. One diver affirms that he heard knocking, and he. believes that the crow are within a watertight compartment, in which there is air sufficient for 30 hours.
