NELSON APPLES IN LONDON
REPORT FROM THE AGENTS. On Saturday Messrs E. Buxton and Co,, Ltd., received a cable from tjipir London agents, Messrs Sanderson, Murray and Co., who had tho handling of the trial shipment of apples by the Paparoa, which stated that the fruit arrived in fair condition, and that the average net price was 6s 5d per case. London charges amounted to about Is 3d per case, so that tho gross average price was 7s 8d per case. The total charges, including cases, cam© to about 5s 7d or 5s 8d per case, but those growers whose net returns will be less than one penny per lb will receive the difference from the Government, who guaranteed Id per \\> on pertajp varieties, which werereppgnised as suitable for the London mar-, ket. Shippers of Cleopatras and Stunners, whoso fruit realised 9s Gd to 10s 6d per case, will recoive a good return. As stated previously the prices received for a trial shipment were very satisfactory, and with the experience gained growers nexfc year should look forward to an increase in their returns.
