SYDNEY STREET DISTURBANCE.
GERMAN SAILORS' BEHAViOiJJEt.. * A CONSULAR REPORT. [Pkess Association* — Copyright.] Sydney, May 27 The German Consul-Genera I repj-t---lng on the disturbances caused by German^ seamen in a Sydney sti^ct on the 7th inst, when they 'nas-iuer-aded apparently insulting the i.ifi:ory of the late King, whose death w.s announced that day, says that no cno regrets tho incident more than himself, and that the whole German ctramunity join iv this feeling. He adds that inquiries showed that most of the German seamen belo.ig*>d to the crew 'oi a British ship, and they were returning aboard after drinking with some friends from a German shin™ Ihe mummery the men wore was the same as that used when celcbranH**' the crossing of the line. That they seem to have had no intention to insult the memory of the late King may be taken from the fact that they "were returning aboard a British ship. The men declared that they did not como ashore till night, .and were not awaro o_ the King's death.
