AN IMPRACTICABLE PROPOSAL. [Press Association — Copyright.] Sydney, May 12. Speaking at the luncheon of the Licensed Victuallers' Association, the State Treasurer declared that the proposal that the Government should take over the drink traffic and make it a State concern, was one which woulu not bear close investigation. The Government would liavc to nnd £12,000,000 to do it, which was a practical impossibilty except oyer a leng course, of years.
