IMPRISONED NEWCASTLE LEADERS.
(Received May 6, 8 p.m.) Sydney, May 6. A deputation of State Labour members waited upon the Solicitor-General and presented a petition in favour of the release of the imprisoned strike leaders, on the ground that industrial peace having been restored the public peace would not be jeopardised by their release, and tho prisoners weremen of good character, whose offences were committed as representatives of their organisations. The Solicitor-General promised consideration of tho matter.
