CHARGE OF FORGERY.

Wellington, April 20. In the Magistrate's Court to-day, Sidney Diamond, a young man, was charged with having committed the forgery of a document purporting to bo a proposal for assurance in the A.M.P. Society. Elßie Elizabeth Sime deposed that at accused's request she signed a paper to become, as she supposed, a member of the Society. The signature on the proposal produced was not hers.

- After hearing witnesses Mr Riddell. S.M., said that there was a conflict of evidence, and the case must go to a jury. The accused was committed for trial. Ba'ii was allowed self in £60 and two sureties of £30.
