O^ Bute's summary and forecast: — A westerly area of low pressure of a very unsteady type has.prevailed in the south for a week, and stormy and changeable weather has been experienced in the far south, and at timep farther north. Westerly winds have been especially boisterous in Cook and Foveaux Straits and, the seas have' been heavy. On the West Coast heavy rain has fallen.
