Christchurch, April 13. There was 1 a large attendance at the Addingtoh saleyards, and the entries in sheep were very large. There was a good demand for wethers in. the store sheep class. Ewes and lambs dropped in price from 6d to 9d per head. The range of prices i was: Best ewes 12s to 17s ; others 7s lOd to 11s 6d: merino ewes 13s 8d; wethers 12s 2d to 16s. Best lambs Us to 13s 3d ; others 5s to 10b 6d. , There was a large decrease m the number of fat lambs yarded as compared with last week, there being 10 536 as compared with 14,300. Prices declined about 6d a head. Exporters declined to advance. to the rates ruling at the last sales. Price^ranged from 11s 5d to 17s Bd. 3700 were withdrawn from sale at prices ranging from 10s 6d to 14s 9d. There was a full yarding of tat shoap, and la good demand at late rates. The range of prices was, prime wethers 16s to 19s 6d, extra to 24s 9d, others 15s to 15s lOd. Prime ewes fetched 13s to 16s 9d, others 8s 3d to 12s 6d, merino wethers 9s 6d, and 6\WS OS There were 311 head of fat cattle yarded, some of which were good quality Prices for beef ranged from los to 22s per 100 lbs, according. to quality. Steers realised £7 to £10 2s 6d ; heifers £5 to £8 ; and dry cows £4 17s 6dto£Bl2s6d. The yarding of fat calves was on a par with the markets, and the demand was about the average, little change being recorded. The range of prices was from 4s 6d to £2 17s 6d, extra quality bringing £4. - The yarding of store cattle totalled rather more than the previous week s sale, and included some very useful sorts, most of the lots being quitted at prices that showed an advance on previous rates. Choppers realised £3 10s, heavy baconers 46s toBUs, extra to 555, and lighter sorts 38s to 44s equal to 3*d to 3Jd per lb. Large porkers brought 31s to 345, and lighter 25s to 30s, equal to 4Jd per lb. Store pigs were in good supply, but the demand was weak; best sorts made 22s to 275, and smaller 14s to 21s; weaners realised 4s to Bs, the latter price for extra good- pigs only.
