THE FERRY STEAMERS' COLLISION.

Wellington, April 13. The magisterial inquiry into the recent collision between the ferry steamers Duchess and Cobar was concluded to-day, and the Court's decision will be given next Monday. The following evidence was given : — Leo H. Jacobsen, a passenger on the Duchess, -said he was under the impression, that Captain Jones was a little the worse for drink. W. H. Napier considered that Captain Jones was perfectly sober. Herbert Radcliffe said \he did not notice any signs of Captain Jones' insobriety. ' ' ..■ A. Hall, who was the engineer on duty on the Duchess, said Captain Jones was. perfectly sober. H. Downes, the caretaker on Day's Bay wharf, corroborated this, as also did J. R. Williams, a shipping clerk.
