FIRE AT INVERCARCILL.

Invercargill, April 12. A largo corrugated iron building in Esk street, one of the landmarks of Invercargill, was destroyed by fire early this morning; Part of the premises was occupied by J. E. Watson and Co. as a machine store, and their large stock of agricultural implements and oils were destroyed. The firm are insured for £1000 in the South British" office; but the loss is considerably larger. . J. B. Moir, tinsmith, another tcihant, is insured for £200 in the South British office, and J. Gillies, picture framer, who is uninsured, estimates his loss at £160.
