Wellington, April 12; A case of alleged attempted suicide occurred at Newtown during the night. . James Ford, of Ridaiford street, said to be an employee of the. City Council, was found by his wife on her return - about 1.15 aim . lying oath© bed with his throat out. He was removed to the hospital, where; so far as can be learned, he has a good i chance of recovery. He had been in South Africa, and had suffered from enteric fever, from the after-effects of which it is believed he has not recovered.
