WAKEFIELD

The closing social and dance in connation with the Riverside Tennis Club takes place on Friday, the 22iul instant, and the last game will bo played on the following day. _ A meeting of those interested in- tne Sunday school addition, was held on Wednesday, the Vicar in the chair. Tho superintendent, Mr Hodgson, presented the balance- sheet, which showed that there is now £51 4s in hand. It was resolved that the loan-to, with a chimney, he gone on with at once, and the whole building painted and refurnished. Votes of thanks wore passed to all who assisted at the children's fete, with special mention of Mr Peter Harris, of Nelson, for his genuine liberality, and to the superintendent. We are pleased to see that Mr McPherson, senior, has so far recovered, as again to be able to • attend to his business.
