O Bate's summary and forecast: — ; Fair weather lias been experienced in most parts of the South Island, but a cyclonic disturbance centred at present a little north wiivl of Capo Maria, has evinced its influence over tho North in gloomy and showery weather. The present indications are for a further fall in tho barometer and especially in the North, where an easterly gale, heavy rain,, and floods. in parts may be expected; south-easterly winds strong to gale, with fain, probable elsewhere. The barometer will rise fast after 24 hours.
