Tho charge preferred against Fred Homer, ex-M.P. for North Lambeth, at the New Bailey was "feloniously forging, and uttering,, knowing the 'same to be forged r .two telegrams to the "Daily Mail." It was alleged thai the defendant, using the. namo oi Kirby, a correspondent of the "Dailj Mail," telegraphed a report of a hostile reception accorded to Mr TLloydGeorge at a recent political meeting- ai Falmouth, saying that a torchlight procession had -to be abandoned "ov account of tho fury of tlio electors," and Mr Lloyd-George guarded by a posse of police. The Chancellor sub* . ! sequently wired that, tho report wat j untrue. The defendant was sent tc prison for six- weeks. •
