AN EXCITING SCENE. DECLARATION BY THE CLERK OF THE COURSE. " Wellington, March 27. Tho "Wellington Pony and Galloway Racing Club held its races at Miramar on Saturday. The results were: Maitai Handicap : Huma 1, Wee Nannie 2, Tobias 3. i Trial Handicap: Emma, 1, Torrent ■2, Miss Vera 3. Eastor Handicap: Muskerado 1, PflßSS'.'-V.H-iVAII Ge^J^fy™ 3. . Royal Handicap : St. Flora 1, St. Helena 2, Petronel 3; There was rather an exciting scene just after the last race, as the hor-: Bes wero being unsaddled. The owner of an unplaced horse threatened the rider of the third horse,_ accusing him of having interfered with his horse. There was a demonstration, of approval from the public, and the Clerk of the Course declared that the owner's complaint was justified, the clerk saying he heard the boys arranging > to do it before. the race started. The Clerk of the Course then said, . "I have done with it." He took off his official regalia,- and handed it in to tho secretary's, office; . • J
