SUGGESTED WOOL TAX.
Melbourne, March 26. At the Sons of Temperance Conference, a delegate advocated a tax on wool to make, up the loss of revenue through the prohibition of alcohol. He pointed out the wool averaged £13 a bale, of which £3 wont in labour, so that there was a huge profit. " He added that a tax of £1 a bale would yield £2,000,000.
