ROVER CLUB.
From "The Colonist," Feb. 24.) The annual meeting of the Rover Football Club was held in the Rechabites' Hall, Wakefield, on Tuesday evening. Mr C; Bird was voted to the chair iv the unavoidable absence of the President. The balance sheet for the past season was presented, showing a balance in hand of £3 4s 6d. This was adopted. ' The officers for the year were elected as follows .—President, Dr. W. R. Pearless ; Vice-Presidents, Dr. W. H. Pearless, Messrs C. Thomason, 1«. H. Durbridge, W. Martin, G. John-soi . A. Loughton, F. Kinzett, and H. J. Harris ; Secretary, Mr E. Uves ; Treasurer, Mr H. L. Thomas; Field Captain Mr E. Eves ; Club Captain, Mr H. J. Harris; Vice-Captain, Mr V. Thomason; Selection 1 -Committee, Messrs L. Thomason, H. Thomas, R. Arnold, and captains; G.eneral Committee, Messrs C. Kirk, G. Mead, Jj. Thomason, R. Arnold, H. Thomav, and captain. Grond co-.imittee, Messrs B. Eyes, H. L. Thomas, aud N. H. Tunnicliffe. .,,. , It was unanimously decided to enter one second-class team for cup fixtures. . , , , , ' Mr J. Lucre was appointed delegate to the Rugby Union. , .' -, The subscription was fixed at os oa. A good numbfr have- expressed a wish to become members, so that the club should b« to put" a fairly strong team in tho field.
